Veteran Testimonial ?? ??Please share a little about your injuries- How were you injured, and where did your injuries happen? ??? "I was injured in Iraq on a mission. I currently have tinnitus along with some PTSD. My major injuries are the bone spurs in my ankles. It limits my ability to do certain things and to bend my ankles fully. I can still do everyday things but with a little hurt." We asked our Veteran Circle Members, and those we have helped (past or present) a few questions to gauge their experience and if there is anything we can be doing to serve them better. We are privileged to be able to share some of their responses with you. #ThankYou #SaluteHeroes #HereToHelp #ReachOut #DisabledVeteranAssistance #DisabledVeteranNonProfit #HeroTestimonial #PTSDAwareness #SuicideAwarenessMonth #MentalHealthAwareness #VeteranFamilies #ArmyVeteran #NavyVeteran #MarineVeteran #AirForceVeteran #CoastGuardVeteran

"It's the medal that nobody wants. When you get it, a tremendous amount of history and honor comes with it. My medal, earned in Iraq, saddens and humbles me knowing that 13 of my Marines earned one but came home in a flag-draped coffin. 35 other Marines came home at the end of the deployment with this same medal and 15 of us were medevac'd from Iraq to Germany (Landstuhl) and then back to Camp Pendleton to begin the recovery and/or medical discharge process." Donny Daughenbaugh, U.S. Marine Corps (Ret.) Coalition Senior Vice President, Development and Administration National Spokesperson Thank you Donny Daughenbaugh, for your service to our country, and to the all Veteran communities you serve, especially ours. Your selfless acts don’t go unnoticed. We’re glad you’re here. ?? ???? #PurpleHeartDay #AmericanVeterans #HonorOurHeroes #ThankAVeteran #NeverForgetTheFallen #SaluteHeroes

What do we do in this Texas heat? Keep going and get creative, that's what! Our own Donny Daughenbaugh got a call yesterday at 7 AM from a Veteran who lives close to him that the Coalition previously helped with mortgage and utility assistance. He'd gotten behind on his electric bill but didn't want to ask anyone for help. He woke up to a hot house with no lights and no AC. In Texas, that's as bad or worse than an empty refrigerator. Pride is a powerful tool on the way up but it's much quicker as a weight on the way down. Donny started making calls and by 10 AM had picked up a borrowed, fully charged electric generator, 2 box fans and a cooler full of ice, water and light snacks. By 11:30 AM with the help of a small network of connected and caring Veteran supporters, the electricity issue was addressed, a payment plan was in place and the Veteran’s electricity was back on. 4 1/2 hours. 40 miles of driving. 1 hour of phone calls and the heart of the Coalition's 20 years of service was at work in Donny's community. #20YearsOfSalutingOurHeroes We're working in your community too, even if you don't know it- And we could really use your help! Even something as small as $20 per month would go a long way to help us with cases like these and our lightning-fast response time. https://lnkd.in/evuHNqTi
