  • Grateful -- that’s how we’re feeling right now. Grateful for nearly 145 donors who stepped up to support our children and families, helping us surpass our year-end goal. Grateful for their generosity to over 9,300 children and families participating in our Foster Care, Adoptions, and Prevention & Diversion programs. And grateful that we get to end and start the year together, continuing to change the lives of thousands of children. Thank you for helping us make Change. Happen. Here. If you didn’t get a chance to give before the year ended, you still can: https://sccfl.org/donate

  • Ready for our #WomensHistoryMonth Spotlight? Lillian D. Wald (1867-1940) made an impact in child welfare as a nurse and a visionary. After witnessing the poverty and hardship of NYC Lower East Side residents at the turn of the twentieth century, she founded the Henry Street Settlement to provide the residents with health care, social services, and education programs. She went on to help found the NAACP and the United States Children’s Bureau, laying the groundwork for child advocacy. Following in Ms. Wald’s footsteps, Tamara Grigsby (1974-2016) emerged as a fierce advocate for children and families, serving as a social worker and state legislator in Wisconsin. Throughout her career, Tamara championed laws and policies that improved child welfare systems, education, and health care, advocating tirelessly for the underserved and never taking no for an answer. Join us as we celebrate pioneering women in #childwelfare all month long. #MovingForwardTogether

  • Celebrating a birthday, anniversary, or another milestone this March? Make it even more special by giving back to vulnerable children in our community. As you gather with loved ones, instead of having them try to figure out what to get for someone who has everything, consider asking them to make a monetary donation to Safe Children Coalition. Here’s how to do that: just put a note in your invitation that says – in lieu of gifts, please consider making a monetary donation to Safe Children Coalition. Your generosity can change the lives of thousands of children in our Foster Care, Adoptions, and Prevention & Diversion programs. It’s a heartfelt way to extend your celebration to support our community’s children. Ready to turn your big day into a big difference? Visit sccfl.org/celebrations to get started.
