Register for ReFrame Conference to attend the Lessons from the Pandemic session with Philip Walkley. Virtual tickets start at $75! Session Overview: The need for more funding. High turnover or burnout among staff. A disengaged board of directors. Difficulty recruiting volunteers. Wondering of your work is making a difference. The list of challenges faced by nonprofits in the home repair sector is long and often feels insurmountable. And because of the frantic pace of most nonprofit work, we rarely take time to slow down long enough to address problems like these. I experienced this until the Pandemic practically forced my organization to slow down and focus on the challenges we were facing through an organizational development process. We asked hard questions, considered changes to our programming we never thought imaginable, and ultimately emerged a stronger, healthier organization having an even greater impact. Organizational Development, or the process through which an organization develops the internal capacity to be most effective and to sustain itself long term, is essential to tackling challenges faced by nonprofits. In this session, participants will learn about the importance of organizational development in home repair nonprofits, evaluate the current challenges faced by their organizations, and develop an action plan to address those challenges through a strategic organizational development process.
