Masters student Petros Stylianou from the University of Cyprus recently spent time on secondment at Volue and LUT University in Finland ?? During his time in Volue, Petros had multiple discussions with Development Manager Dr Amir Safdarian about the company’s ongoing projects as well as his own research. He also had the opportunity to present experimental work on the Experimental Evaluation of Machine Learning-aided SWIPT Using Multisine Signals, conducted in collaboration with PhD student Mohamed S. Korium during his secondment in Cyprus, alongside advisor Elio Faddoul and the supervision of Professor Ioannis Krikidis. NEW PUBLICATION: 'Large-scale Package Deliveries with Unmanned Aerial Vehicles using Collective Learning' by authors Arun Narayanan LUT University, Evangelos Pournaras University of Leeds and Pedro H. J. Nardelli LUT University. Partly supported by the COALESECE project this paper?presents an innovative, practical package-delivery model wherein multiple UAVs deliver multiple packages to customers, who are compensated for late deliveries. It also proposes a novel methodology that combines a new plan-generation algorithm with a collective-learning heuristic to quickly determine cost-effective paths of UAVs, even for large-scale deliveries up to 10,000 customers.
