For years I’d been lying to myself about what motivates me. The unfortunate part is that I didn’t even know that it wasn’t the truth. I’d been putting that I was ‘self-motivated’. It sounded good on a resume and I thought it was true. However, the older I get I realized that the success of others is what truly motivates me. Seeing other people succeed sparks something in my brain that says, if she can do it, so can I. I get my passion for real estate from my grandfather and uncle. My uncle was a real estate agent. Both my uncle and grandfather always owned property. Once I saw the money that could be made by just having one property I decided that I had to teach others what I’d learned. Anyone that wants to add some passive income to their budget, wants to diversify your retirement portfolio or wants to leave an inheritance for their children’s children should consider real estate. The communication, personal development and problem solving are just an added bonus to the skillsets that you develop as a result of being a real estate investor. I’m known for taking complex information and simplifying it so that it is easier to understand and digest. When I tell people that investing in real estate is all about finding solutions and surrounding yourself with the people that can help you find those solutions… like literally that’s what it is. For example, my resident just called me the other day stating that her heat had gone out. Of course it was a cold night. I contacted my Heating and Cooling provider and they were able to have the problem fixed in 24 hours! Building relationships with strategic partners that will help you when you need it is truly invaluable.
