COWA held it's first Talk & Toast and Networking event yesterday in Centennial, CO. If you look closely, you can see DISH Network had an event just next door too! A huge thank you to our own Dan McVaugh for preparing a presentation on the future of 6G and ORAN. There were many key takeaways and exciting updates for the #wireless industry! A Letter from our COWA President, Tim Urband: Dear COWA Members, We need your immediate support for Colorado House Bill 25-1056, which aims to streamline the wireless permitting process. The bill is scheduled for its first hearing on Tuesday, February 11, at 1:30 PM in the Transportation, Housing & Local Government Committee. What HB25-1056 Does: ? Creates Consistency:?Establishes a uniform permitting framework for wireless telecommunications facilities across Colorado. ? Improves Efficiency:?Allows providers to efficiently upgrade and install new facilities, reducing unnecessary delays. ? Shortens Approval Times:?Shortens the shot clock for new wireless telecommunications facilities and deems non-substantial upgrades as approved after notification. As professionals in the wireless industry, you know firsthand the challenges posed by inconsistent permitting processes. HB25-1056 seeks to unify providers and local jurisdictions, promoting a collaborative effort to enhance Colorado’s connectivity. Take Action:? We urge you to email the members of the Transportation, Housing & Local Government Committee and the bill sponsors by Tuesday morning, requesting their support with a "Yes" vote for HB25-1056.
