In #Rwanda, the Feed the Future Rwanda Hinga Wunguke Activity recently launched four new co-investment partnerships aimed at accelerating agricultural and economic growth throughout the country. The new grants are expected to mobilize $580,000 in collaboration with private sector partners to deploy digital solutions that connect Rwandan farmers with reliable agricultural inputs and sources of credit, as well as to support youth- and women-led businesses. The Activity expects this intervention will impact as many as 500,000 farmers throughout #Rwanda, helping grow incomes and strengthen the local economy.

Cultivating New Frontiers in Agriculture (CNFA) is an international non-profit organization headquartered in Washington, D.C. and Brussels, Belgium with offices in 16 countries throughout Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe. We work with businesses, foundations, governments and communities to build customized local and global partnerships that meet the world’s growing demand for food. Since our inception in 1985, we have designed and implemented enterprise-based, agricultural development initiatives to facilitate market access, enhance agribusiness competitiveness, increase productivity and improve access to inputs and credit across 45 countries worldwide. 30+ years on, our staff remains the most significant driver in pursuing CNFA’s mission to stimulate economic growth and improve livelihoods by cultivating entrepreneurship. We champion the entrepreneurial spirit at all levels and embrace the notion that bold development solutions can come from singular, sometimes unexpected sources. Recognizing this is inherent in our DNA. Our diverse organization has grown to more than 500 employees worldwide – we are development experts but also experienced business owners, agronomists, and farmers. As a global team, this collective knowledge shapes and informs our work. We are a proud Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer and are supportive of family, wellness, and a healthy work-life balance. We are always looking for top talent.

In #Rwanda, approximately 15% of #maize crops are lost annually in the post-harvest process, impacting both farmer incomes and local food availability. To address this, the Feed the Future Rwanda Hinga Wunguke Activity has partnered with EA Agro to support over 20,000 smallholder farmers in Gatsibo, Kayonza, Ngoma, and Bugesera districts by training 55 commercial agents as professional maize aggregators and equipping four collection centers with mobile dryers, shellers, and post-harvest tools to improve maize processing and reduce aflatoxin levels.
