As a friendly reminder, CMU Health clinics in Saginaw and Bay City will be closed on Thursday, November 28 and Friday, November 29 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

CMU Health would like to recognize our Women's Health Nurse Practitioner, Kelly Ellis, for her dedication to our CenteringPregnancy program. Over the past year, we have experienced an almost 30% increase in patient enrollment. Additionally, we have achieved a 25% reduction in preterm deliveries and a 44% decrease in low birth weight compared to last year. Our postpartum attendance consistently remains at or above 80%. Perhaps most importantly, both mothers and babies are receiving regular care from our CMU Health providers post-delivery. The connections formed in these groups provide valuable mental and physical support for both mothers and their babies. Give us a call at 989-746-7500 if you're interested in joining our Centering program.

According to the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research, approximately 66,440 Americans will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2024 and more than 51,750 Americans will die from pancreatic cancer. While there is no early detection test, we want to remind you to listen to your body. Symptoms may include nausea, bloating, fatigue, jaundice, and lack of appetite. https://lnkd.in/gGQhtH-5

Did you know roughly 1 in 64 American adults will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer during their lifetime? November is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month and we want to help people understand the risk factors. Tobacco use, diet and body weight, and heavy alcohol consumption are factors associated with pancreatic cancer. While there is no recommended routine screening in people who are at average risk - genetic testing can done for those who might be at increased risk because of family history. Genetic testing is available at CMU Health. To learn more visit here: https://lnkd.in/gMntfUpz
