The Colorado School of Mines partnered with CMT on the construction of its new sophomore residence hall in Golden, Colorado. The residence hall is a six-level building overlooking the beautiful Golden valley. The new hall will provide housing, social lounges, and laundry services for students, while the main floor will provide a cafeteria, a fitness room, and an auditorium. Construction began with a complex foundation system, which included piers, grade beams, and mass concrete, and continued with a steel infrastructure. Throughout the process, CMT has provided the construction materials testing for concrete, soil, and asphalt and conducted the special inspections for structural steel weld and bolted connections, drill and epoxy, masonry, fireproofing, and firestopping. CMT endeavored to help bring quality to the future engineering students.
