??If you’re going to the Chamber Music Society of Salt Lake City concert this Friday, November 8th, you may be wondering why the Haydn String Quartet is part of a set nicknamed the “Prussian Quartets”… ?? Prussia was a German kingdom and state that was a major player in European politics from the 18th to 20th centuries. See the map for more! ?? Joseph Haydn's String Quartets, Op. 50 are known as the "Prussian Quartets" because they were dedicated to King Frederick William II of Prussia who also happened to be an amateur cellist!
