The CMS Foundation raises money to support Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools’ highest strategic priorities. Harnessing the power of private investments in education, we seed innovative ideas and help expand programs to accelerate system-wide transformation. The CMS Foundation plays a unique role in our community, serving as a trusted bridge that connects donors to the district’s most critical work. In this position, we help ensure investments in our school system have a meaningful, sustainable impact on our students and educators. A great community must have a great public school system. We believe that by working together, we can make Charlotte-Mecklenburg a national leader in public education, where teaching is an iconic profession and opportunity abounds for every child.

    Last night's Teacher Talks, hosted by the CMS Foundation, was an inspirational evening of sharing! Thank you to everyone who joined. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Foundation hosted its 6th Teacher Talks at the Dale F. Halton Theater. Among the Teachers Talking this year were: - Franchone Bey, an English language arts teacher at West Charlotte High School who has learned to truly be a teacher instead of acting like one - Ana Cunningham, an English language arts teacher at Phillip O. Berry Academy of Technology, who is also the CMS Teacher of the Year for 2022-23; Cunningham’s Teacher Talk focused on why students deserve “whole” teachers whose professional and personal needs are seen and supported - Jeffrey Mercado, an instructional facilitator and master teacher leader at Ardrey Kell High School who believes AI can help educators unlock their greatest superpowers - Medine Yigit, a German immersion teacher at South Academy of International Language (SAIL) spoke on embracing change and diversity, so we can all learn to thrive, no matter where we are in life #ExcellenceCMS #TeacherTalks
