Congratulations ?? to our new batch (the first in 2025)! 13 journalists committed themselves for 8 weeks to complete Data Driven Journalism course - our seventh #DataJournalism course with support from Interlink Academy, Germany. With this, we have so far trained 161 journalists in Nepal in our vision of digitally transforming Nepali journalism.

Today, we welcomed 13 journalists from all over Nepal for #Podcasting course at our classroom. #MediaTraining with Interlink Academy.

Happy to start 2025 with those 14 journalists representing all 7 provinces of Nepal in CMR Nepal Journalism Academy's 5th #DataJournalism Course. They completed one-week of face-to-face intensive training and I am very humbled by their dedication and commitment. I am already looking forward to welcome them back for another week of intensive training after six-week elearning. #MediaTraining w/ Interlink Academy, Germany

Wonderful Weekend: On December 6 and 7, I attended "GlobalVoices Summit 2024" in Kathmandu, Nepal with 300 other participants from 40 countries. I moderated the opening plenary session on "Digital Conversations in Nepal: Past, Present and Future" with Kunda Dixit, Sabita Acharya and Sudip Bhai Subedi as panelists. CMR Nepal Journalism Academy is proud to be associated as local partner of the lovely event that long back I wished I would attend someday! I attended numerous interesting and fruitful sessions on AI, data, internet freedom, and narratives. I also reconnected with many people some of whom I had met as early as 2006. It felt great to meet Rebecca MacKinnon, Ethan Zuckerman, Ivan Sigal, Georgia Popplewell, Malka Older, Rezwanul Islam, Osama Manzar, and to spend times with friends from Nepal. Thanks everyone!

It was our pleasure to welcome Safa, Associate Program Director at Tactical Tech and Project Lead for Data Detox Kit, Digital Enquirer Kit and Digital You, at the CMR Nepal Journalism Academy during her visit to Kathmandu. CMR-Nepal is a proud partner of Tactical Tech and with their support, CMR-Nepal has done a few small but impactful works including printing of the handbook on the Media and Information Literacy, and exhibition of The Glassroom: Disinformation Edition.
