Bringing health and dignity to women and children living in poverty.
关于我们
CMMB is an international, faith-based NGO providing long-term, community based medical and development aid to communities affected by poverty and unequal access to healthcare. For over a century, we have worked to strengthen and support communities through health care programs, the deployment of medicines and medical supplies, and the placement of volunteers. As part of our new global strategic platform, we are focusing on the health of women, children and adolescents. We are working with our partners to deliver sustainable health services in targeted communities within Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean. Service is at the heart of our mission, but we cannot pour from an empty cup. The mothers of Mwandi, Zambia, remind us of this truth. Traveling for hours over challenging terrain, they make the difficult journey to a CMMB-constructed Mothers’ Shelter—choosing care for themselves so they can bring their babies into the world safely. Their strength is a lesson for us all: Prioritizing our well-being isn’t selfish—it’s essential. When we rest, reflect, and seek the support we need, we become better equipped to serve others with love and compassion. Read this week's reflection: https://buff.ly/LZnrUD0

Just 1% of the federal budget represents foreign aid. Why does it matter? Because a healthier, more stable world benefits us all.? ? With just 1% we: ?? Address and prevent outbreaks of deadly diseases, including the next pandemic.? ?? Help economies grow, strengthening global trade and investment in U.S. goods.? ?? Promote peace, stability, and access to health. So that families can stay home instead of seeking refuge across borders.? ?? Protect our core values to support our brothers and sisters in need. ?? Importantly, we can save lives. Between 2000 and 2020, the global maternal mortality ratio decreased by 34%.?? ? There’s still more to do—more lives to save and communities to strengthen. As the landscape of foreign aid changes, let’s protect our progress and remember the impact we achieve with only 1%.

It’s a busy day for the CMMB Kenya team as they officially launch three transformational projects in Kitui County. Three projects, countless lives impacted. All the best to our team as they document these activities live.
CMMB, in partnership with the County Government of Kitui, is transforming healthcare access for mothers and newborns! Today, we are proud to launch three life-changing projects: ?? The SMEK Water Project – Bringing safe and clean water to communities, ensuring better health and sanitation. ?? A Newborn Unit at Kitui County Referral Hospital – Providing specialized care for preterm and vulnerable newborns. ?? A Maternity Unit at Nuu Hospital – Creating a safe and dignified space for mothers to deliver their babies with quality care. Together, we are strengthening healthcare systems and improving maternal and child health in Kitui County. Join us in celebrating this milestone! ?? I appreciated this editorial in The Lancet stressing the gaps in addressing the NCD goals that were set in the SDGs. The work on NCD prevention and diagnosis/ treatment needs more partners and new approaches. cmmb is piloting a treatment program with local MOH counterparts in Kenya. Darnelle Bernier designed the effort in partnership with CMMB Kenya leadership to make medicines more accessible in clinics where stock outs are common. We look forward to the NCD Alliance’s upcoming forum in Kigali to learn from others trying to accelerate progress. #TurnTheTide https://lnkd.in/eKn3hsie
