Library Giving Day is almost here and no, this isn’t an April Fool’s prank. Charlotte Mecklenburg Library really does give away free books every day (but you have to bring them back of course!) On April 1, you can give back! Every gift will be matched dollar for dollar up to $15,000 and if we hit 300 donors, we’ll unlock an extra $10,000 thank to the Be Like Marge Campaign. Mark your calendar. Make a gift. Help the Library keep doing what it does best: changing lives. Free books forever! https://lnkd.in/g7qXrzQG

关于我们
The Charlotte Mecklenburg Library Foundation exists to help the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library improve lives and build a stronger community. Created as a non-profit 501(c)(3) in September 2012 in partnership with Foundation For The Carolinas, the Foundation supports the Library’s programs and services through advocacy, fundraising and building relationships with others who share a passion for the Library’s work. The Library Foundation supports library services, expands the Library’s collection of print and digital books and materials, enhances programming for all ages, invests in innovative initiatives, and strives to grow its endowment for future generations. More members of our community - individuals, corporations and foundations alike - are investing in our libraries and the crucial services they provide to our community. In six years, the Library Foundation has raised $9 million for the Library.

Thank you to The Charlotte Center for sharing such an amazing experience with our Library lovers and book club competitors: one lucky book club will win 10 tickets to "A Story in Time: Voices in Historical Fiction" at The DuBois Center at UNC Charlotte Center City on April 5 at 11 am as part of the Charlotte Ideas Festival during Book Club Madness. Step into the past with five celebrated authors as they explore the power of historical fiction to illuminate untold stories and reimagine history. Susie Orman Schnall, Vanessa Miller, Joy Calloway, Adele Myers, and Camille di Maio will dive into the art of blending fact and fiction, discussing how much historical accuracy matters, whose voices deserve to be heard, and what makes historical fiction so compelling today. Whether you're a devoted fan of the genre or a curious reader, this thought-provoking panel will offer fresh insights into the stories that shape our understanding of the past—and ourselves.
