Our CMI2 Adaptive Experimentation Facility (AEF) at Fort Andrew team welcomed a Black Hawk crew from the West Virginia National Guard earlier this week for an air operations test flight aimed at #prepartion and #readiness for future events. CMI2's Fort Andrew is a unique experimentation and training facility that supports various components of the U.S. military and first responders in rural Clay County, West Virginia. The crew proudly added their patch to our display board, and Walter (Wally) Hatfield and Adam Landers presented each member of the crew with AEF Challenge Coins. It was also an exciting day for our AEF intern team, which consists of Clay County High School students and recent graduates. The interns enjoyed a close-up experience with the legendary helicopter, learning about safety requirements, mission readiness, and the teamwork necessary for successful mission completion. #innovationinthedirt ?? - U.S. Army National Guard photos by Edwin L. The ability to provide emergency medical care in unpredictable and resource-limited conditions is critical for responders in wilderness and disaster situations, which is why we are pleased to announce that the CMI2 Wilderness Medicine program will return to our Adaptive Experimentation Facility at Fort Andrew in May! The five-day Wilderness Medicine EMT-Basic Refresher Course (WM25-01) is designed to enhance the skills of emergency medical technicians, first responders, and medical professionals in challenging and remote environments. This week, a Catalyst-Pathfinder collaborative success was a featured demonstration at the Embedded Trainer Working Group, an event co-sponsored by the Synthetic Training Environment Cross-Functional Team and the Maneuver Center of Excellence in Ft. Benning, GA, and a demonstrated proof of concept for Fort Sill. The Field Artillery Master Gunner Suite project team, comprised of researchers from Marshall University and the The University of Alabama in Huntsville, and our own Mallory Lind, West Virginia PWIC for the program, have been on the ground discussing capability synergies and points for collaboration. ?? IN THE NEWS - Soldier readiness is a key focus of the U.S. Army DEVCOM Army Research Laboratory's Pathfinder program, developed in collaboration with CMI2. Originally designed to enhance practical readiness and accelerate performance through problem sourcing, opportunity identification, and solution development, the Pathfinder program connected researchers from Vanderbilt University and Soldiers from the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. The primary objective of the collaboration between the two was to simulate battlefield blast exposures to mitigate the impact on Soldiers. By leveraging neuroscience and engineering, Vanderbilt researchers worked to analyze blast environments and assess potential effects on brain health. #readiness #soldier #collaboration #innovationinthedirt
