This week, a Catalyst-Pathfinder collaborative success was a featured demonstration at the Embedded Trainer Working Group, an event co-sponsored by the Synthetic Training Environment Cross-Functional Team and the Maneuver Center of Excellence in Ft. Benning, GA, and a demonstrated proof of concept for Fort Sill. The Field Artillery Master Gunner Suite project team, comprised of researchers from Marshall University and the The University of Alabama in Huntsville, and our own Mallory Lind, West Virginia PWIC for the program, have been on the ground discussing capability synergies and points for collaboration. Pictured are engagements, a technical demonstration, and our Maneuver Innovation Lab team. Catalyst Pathfinder is a collaborative, tactical innovation program led by the U.S. Army DEVCOM Army Research Laboratory, and supported by CMI2. ??: Mallory Lind, CMI2 ??: Brian Suhs, UAH

?? IN THE NEWS - Soldier readiness is a key focus of the U.S. Army DEVCOM Army Research Laboratory's Pathfinder program, developed in collaboration with CMI2. Originally designed to enhance practical readiness and accelerate performance through problem sourcing, opportunity identification, and solution development, the Pathfinder program connected researchers from Vanderbilt University and Soldiers from the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. The primary objective of the collaboration between the two was to simulate battlefield blast exposures to mitigate the impact on Soldiers. By leveraging neuroscience and engineering, Vanderbilt researchers worked to analyze blast environments and assess potential effects on brain health. #readiness #soldier #collaboration #innovationinthedirt

On February 7, our team celebrated the grand opening of the Maneuver Innovation Lab (MIL) at the Maneuver Battle Lab on Fort Moore, Georgia. The MIL is a collaborative effort involving the U.S. Army DEVCOM Army Research Laboratory (DEVCOM ARL), the Maneuver Battle Lab (MBL), Columbus State University (CSU), and CMI2. It is the first of its kind within a U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) unit. The MIL boasts rapid prototyping capabilities and is now one of nine collaborative Design, Innovation, Research, and Technology (DIRT) Labs, allowing Soldiers direct access to academic partners in a centralized hub of tactical innovation. The event featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony by Maj. Gen. Colin Tuley, commanding general of the U.S. Army Maneuver Center of Excellence; Dr. Patrick Baker, Director of DEVCOM ARL; Dr. Stuart Rayfield, President of Columbus State University; and Major General (RET) Buff Blount, Executive Chairman of CMI2. Craig Kuphall, CMI2 Pathfinder Deputy Program Manager, also spoke at the event. Special thanks to our partners at DEVCOM ARL including Arwen DeCostanza, Robert Dionisio, and John Coomer. Finally, a special shout-out goes to our incredible team of innovators at Fort Moore — Benjamin Hardy, Bryan Stewart, and Carter Hollis — and our teammates and partners who traveled to Fort Moore for the event. Thank you Shekennia Grover, Garth Ghearing, Scott Homer, and Allen Grane of ACME General Corp. ?? - U.S. Army photo by Joey Rhodes II
