The Philadelphia Flower Show, held from March 1 to March 9, drew over 250,000 visitors. Southern Jersey was prominently featured at the tourism booth, where the Jersey Cape Vacation Guide was distributed to attendees throughout the event. With its stunning displays and lively atmosphere, the event was a vibrant and unforgettable experience that left a lasting impression.

Celebrating 20 Years of Moving Women Forward! Yesterday, on the eve of International Women’s Day, we proudly celebrated the 20th anniversary of our Women in Business Conference at The Flanders Hotel. The event was nothing short of inspiring as we heard from incredible women leading the way in their respective fields. Our keynote speakers — Chief Katherine Madden of the North Wildwood Police Department, Maria Grande, Personal Power Speaker, and Christine Winn, PhD., FACHE of Cooper University Health Care — shared powerful insights and stories of perseverance and success. Our engaging panel discussion, “Mentorship Matters”, was skillfully moderated by Marifrances O’Neill of OceanFirst Bank and featured accomplished leaders: Rita Rothberg, Cape May County Clerk, Debbie Bass, Cape May County Tourism and Nancy Cleaver Bilderback, Crest Savings Bank Board of Directors, who all shared the importance of mentoring throughout their careers. We closed the day with an empowering talk from Priscilla Loomis — Olympian, motivational speaker, and entrepreneur — who left us feeling motivated and ready to take on new challenges. The Chamber welcomed New Jersey Department of Transportation Commissioner Francis O’Connor to our monthly membership meeting on February 20. Commissioner O’Connor provided valuable insights into upcoming infrastructure projects in our region, including the Route 49 Bridge over Mill Creek in Upper Township (currently in concept development), the Route 50 Bridge over Cedar Swamp Creek in Upper Township (in preliminary engineering), and the Route 52 Causeway Accent Lighting project, expected to be completed by spring 2025. He also discussed the Cape May-Lewes Ferry Utility Duct Bank Project, anticipated to go out for bid in summer 2025, as well as the Cape May Approach Road, which is expected to be bid by the end of 2025. Additionally, the Spicer’s Creek Boat Ramp Renovation is scheduled to take place in 2025. Commissioner O’Connor also spoke about his department’s work with the North Wildwood Emergency Beach Replenishment project and its efforts to support coastal infrastructure resilience. Following his presentation, Commissioner O’Connor generously participated in a Q&A session, addressing members' questions and providing further insights into transportation initiatives affecting our region. We extend our gratitude to AtlantiCare for sponsoring and to Bellevue Tavern for hosting this event. We look forward to our next meeting on March 20, featuring County Commissioner Director Leonard Desiderio.
