Founder of Club255 — Helping thousands of STEM Professionals Connect with Each Other, Build their Career and Defeat their Inner Critic.
Do you know what the #1 regret of a dying person is? (It's not "I wish I could spend more time with my Family") It's: “I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.” We all eventually have an Identity Crisis, in our 40's, if not sooner. Because we all have a fake identity: "Hard Work Solves all Problems". But guess what the #2 regret is? ”I wish I hadn't worked so hard.” It's pretty telling that as a society, our top 2 regrets are focused around work. I worked in the Tech Sector for over 20+ Years. My worth was focused solely around how I fix Computers and Systems. At least that was the story I had made up in my head. It wasn't true, but complacency is a drug, hard to quit and easy to use. Every part of my work identity was focused in and around fixing Computers and not enough time fixing myself. So after gathering an insane amount of courage, I quit my job. Now, that was almost 6 years ago. Since then, I've raised my Kids, built my own Business and Connected with so many other cool people. and I found that Continuous Self-Improvement is the Path to overcoming, These top 2 Regrets of the Dying... And I'm hoping that my experience can help others do the same. That's why I built Club255, So we can help detach your false work identity from your true identity, One of Progress, One of Curiosity, and One of Connection. What is one thing you should do right now to improve your Career Path?
