While working through the internship process be curious and learn everything that it presents. I usually follow 20 mins rule , spend 20 mins to read about the tech and then take help from others in learning more. Think what was missing in things you learnt/read by yourself. Do the work implement something small and then add complexities to it with your mentors adding a reality and practical element.

Gain Practical Experience: Look for side projects or personal initiatives that allow you to apply your cloud computing skills. Contribute to open-source projects, build sample applications, or work on small-scale projects to gain practical experience outside of your internship.

There are many ways to master your skills, and indeed this is a rule to stay ahead, but be careful not to lock yourself into a radical specialization.
