Full Circle- Last year around this time I returned from Chef to Chef in Austin inspired, having identified opportunities to grow individually and elevate our culinary program. It was incredibly rewarding talking shop and taking in presentations from some of the best in our field. One such presentation by Chef Charles Carrol, CEC among other topics discussed the thorough renovation of their employee dining space and the positive impact it had for their club. Chef delivered an engaging presentation on a unique subject that inspired me to reassess our offering. Yesterday we broke ground on the renovation of our employee cafeteria! Many people helped to get us here, and I’m excited to see it all come together. Several ideas in play came from Chef’s presentation, from creating a ‘brand’ for the outlet to incorporating some new cost effective pieces of equipment that will allow us to offer more variety and healthier options for our team. With Chef to Chef 2025 in Baltimore just days away, seeing this project come to fruition after a year of planning is nothing short of perfect.
