Starting the year with another Google ?Documentary Shoot. Remember those New Year's resolutions? "Be bolder," I told myself in 2023. "Make a bigger impact." And here I am, camera crew in row, documenting the whirlwind journey of Clozetsales, my circular fashion marketplace, as part of a Google Documentary Shoot for the second time! Building Clozetsales, a circular fashion marketplace empowering women and tackling climate action, hasn't been easy. But this latest adventure reminds me just how much fire this journey holds I participated in the hustle Academy to get more insights on how to leverage Google tools for my business. The classes, assignments and network were a game-changer. From marketing tactics to financial planning and pitching our businesses for funding. Which we got! This Google documentary isn't just about my story; it's a testament to the power of resilience and self belief. I’m grateful for the experience and support ???? Here are the moments that matter to me. I was too scared to do this program but Thank God for deadlines! I was given 100k to distribute the books ?? and engage more Fashion entrepreneurs within a period of time so my procrastination caught up with me. Last minute, I called @theproduct_guyy for flyer designs, pulled a few strings with my friends, mentors, organizations that I worked with this year! And ?? boom, we held the first Upcycling Project for @clozetsales with over 200 registered participants and 50 active members! As we wind down this weekend: Here are some lessons that stood out for me in this process: 1. Do not be afraid to ask! 2 of our facilitators were people who I didn’t have a relationship with. I followed them on Instagram and sent a pitch to them. The said Yes without collecting a dime from me. 2. Be resourceful, I’m that person who will try my best to help others! I think ?? that made pulling string easier ???? 3. We have a knowledge gap in NIGERIA and crude skills! It’s an opportunity for anybody who is passionate about training young people. 4. Nothing is new, innovation is about processes not ideas ?? 5. Put out your best, in everything you do! You never ?? know which one will be the hit ! On to the next program for 2024….. We spoke about the do’s and dont’s of running a business in Nigeria especially in the thrift fashion industry.
