How many emails do you usually have open at a time? A few at most? Well, it’s been reported that when people try to open too many emails at once, Outlook is crashing or producing an error message like “Out of memory or system resources”. The number of emails you’d need to have open all at once is probably too high for most people to encounter this issue (it’s 60 emails…). But if you’re experiencing crashes, make sure you don’t have too many emails open – just stick to a few at once. And if your system is low on memory, try closing other apps. If that doesn’t help, you could also try rolling back to an older version of Outlook or, better yet, try switching to the “New Outlook” app for Windows. Either way, be cautious about any quick registry fixes you might see online. Altering the Windows registry can mess up your system if it’s not done correctly, so it's best not to do this yourself. The new look will appear on the Windows sign-in screen, the Microsoft Store, and any place you use Windows Hello. Microsoft are also adding easier passkey options, so switching between devices and authentication methods will be simpler than ever. The update will roll out to everyone soon, though it’s only available to Beta Channel Insiders (who test out early builds of Windows 11) at the moment. If you or your team use Microsoft Outlook and notice it freezing when copying text, you’re not alone. Microsoft are aware of the issue, and they’re actively working on a fix. The problem has been reported in recent versions of Outlook when using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+C to copy text. So you might be affected if your business is running the latest updates. Until the fix is rolled out, here’s a quick workaround: Instead of using Ctrl+C to copy text, try right-clicking the selected text and choosing "Copy" from the menu. It’s time to take a trip down memory lane… On this day in 1983, Microsoft announced a new piece of software that would completely change the way we work. What was that software called?... Windows! Back then, it was promoted as a “graphical user interface” (or GUI) for MS-DOS, which was the system most computers ran on at the time. It would mean that instead of typing lines of commands, people could just use a mouse to click on icons – making computers much more user-friendly. Bill Gates initially said that Windows 1.0 would be ready by April 1984, though it ended up taking a while longer to release. It finally became available in November 1985. While the first couple of versions of Windows didn’t really catch on, Windows 3.0 changed everything. Suddenly, more and more businesses started using Windows, and the era of easy computing was born.
