NCSL is seeking a Legislative Director, with a focus on workforce and economic development, for our State-Federal Affairs Program. The deadline to apply is this Friday, March 7, 11:59 p.m. MT.
JOB OPENING: Legislative Director for NCSL's State-Federal Affairs Program, Workforce and Economic Development A?Legislative?Director?may serve as the lead staff person helping state legislators develop policy on state-federal matters. This includes workforce, economic development to include miliary bases, and the arts, and carrying out lobbying strategies to implement the conference’s policy. The position requires substantial and demonstrated independence, initiative, and political sensitivity to operate effectively on behalf of NCSL and state legislatures.?This position requires substantial knowledge and state-federal policy expertise in the assigned committee's jurisdiction, intergovernmental policy processes, as well as contacts in key organizations. CSU's Democracy Summit is back on March 5-7 with this year's theme focusing on democratic innovation. The summit serves as a way to help the campus and community explore the many facets of democracy, and will feature nationally renowned speakers, including The New School economist Darrick Hamilton and NCAA President Charlie Baker.
