We are celebrating Thanksgiving early in Jim Thorpe! Last week, our CLIU classrooms in the LB Morris School got together for all kinds of yummy food for an early Turkey Day dinner! It's a chance for the students and the educators of these different classes to spend time with one another. At Alburtis Elementary, inclusion is a lesson taught from the top down. Principal Scalzo is making sure the students of our Life Skills classroom feel just as much a part of the school as any other kid. As part of a large inclusion project, donations were collected for dogs at a local doggie daycare and dog treats were handmade as well! All of these students visited the Cold Nose Lodge, and they were rewarded with a tour of the facility and play time with some dogs! CLIU21 has worked closely with the Whitehall-Coplay School District to bring early intervention classrooms together from around Lehigh County. The Whitehall-Coplay Early Learning Center has put 11 classrooms under one roof in the old Gockley Elementary on the district campus. This is the site we just recently toured with our local legislators. This allows for itinerant educators, who are now spending much less time on the road traveling, to better work and collaborate with teachers and students.
