The Clinton County IDA (CCIDA) is proud to have played a key role in bringing Micro Bird inc. to the Town of Plattsburgh marking the second major economic development announcement today. Micro Bird’s $30 million U.S. manufacturing facility will create up to 350 jobs, preserving the legacy of transportation manufacturing at the Nova Bus facility. This milestone reflects Governor Hochul’s incredible leadership and the collaborative efforts of Empire State Development, the North Country Chamber of Commerce, TDC, and the CCIDA in making this project a reality. The County of Clinton Industrial Development Agency, Clinton County Capital Resource Corporation, and Clinton Grant Facilitation Corporation each offer important tools to leverage public and private investment to improve the quality of life for residents of Clinton County. All three organizations offer specific financial benefits that help facilitate the development and improvement of new and local businesses. Project applicants must satisfy eligibility requirements, including attesting to their need for financial assistance, as well as complying with quarterly and annual reporting requirements to demonstrate the economic impact as projected in their application. Each of the three entities is overseen by a Board of Directors appointed by the Clinton County Legislature. Members are residents of the County and were selected for their professional and business experiences, and long-standing commitment to the growth and development of Clinton County.

The CCIDA was proud to have our Executive Director on hand as Champlain Valley Educational Services (CVES) celebrated their $5 million grant from NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets. Local and state officials, including Commissioner Richard Ball, were welcomed and given a tour of the current facilities, highlighting CVES’ Career and Technical Education agricultural initiatives including their farm to table program. This grant will fund new culinary arts labs, a commissary kitchen, and CDL training programs, further strengthening workforce development in Clinton County. CCIDA congratulates our partners at the Clinton County Legislature, TDC and The Town of Plattsburgh on the completion and grand opening of the Clinton County Business Innovation Gateway (CBIG)! This project, which built a fully infrastructured road and opens up 135 acres of developable land, represents a major leap forward in creating opportunities for economic growth, job creation, and innovation in our community. We are especially grateful to all our federal, state, and business partners who helped secure critical funding through the FAST-NY program at Empire State Development (ESD) the U.S. Economic Development Administration, & the Northern Border Regional Commission. A special thanks to Assemblyman D. Billy Jones, ESD Regional Director Stephen Hunt, District Director for Congresswoman Elise Stefanik Jonathan D.
