Delivering maternal care to disadvantaged communities in Asia, Africa and the U.S.

关于我们

Clinics IV Life was conceived to effect actual and immediate delivery of care to poor, indigent and disadvantaged communities, focusing on expectant mothers and newborn. Nowhere is the failure of healthcare more apparent than in these communities and this fundamental breakdown in provision of care is not limited to developing countries alone, but is rampant in the United States, where access to care for rural and impoverished communities is all but non-existent. Add to this the existing biases towards race and gender that still permeate healthcare and this patient population faces almost insurmountable challenges. Every 16 seconds a baby is stillborn and every 2 minutes a mother dies giving birth. There is no world in which these statistics should be tolerated and not acted upon. Clinics IV Life identifies areas of special need (ASN's) and build clinics in these areas that are staffed by OBGYN's and Pediatricians. These shared practices deliver free care to expectant mothers and their newborn, while offering vital services in communities where medical care is inaccessible or unaffordable. We rely heavily on our advisory boards, both in-country and abroad to provide data and skill to assist us in realizing our goals. Our first pilot clinic is currently under construction in the Philippines and projects in Cambodia and India are being evaluated. As a 501(c)3 not for profit, we rely entirely on the generosity of our donors to fund and fuel our vision.

We'd like to give a shoutout to FINN Partners and Gil Bashe for a very meaningful donation to our charity. In a world of competing interests all demanding attention, raising funds to improve the lot of disadvantaged expectant mothers can be challenging and at times, impossible. Without contributions from companies that share our vision of a better world, we'd be nowhere. Thank you!

Want to help us illuminate the way the way for the elderly and vulnerable? We have an access road running behind our clinic project in Ligao in the Philippines. The road is steep, muddy and littered with potholes. It washes out with the monsoon rain so is particularly treacherous right now, particularly so at night, and as it borders on the rice fields, cobras and other snakes pose a real risk. We'd like to help the community, in particular the aged who don't have cell phone light, to steer them home safely. Solar street lights costs around 2000 Filipino pesos (around USD $37) per light. We'd like to install four of these to guide the women and elderly home safely in the evening. We're looking for around $200 in donations to realize this. Anyone who'd like to chip in can do so by following the link below and placing ILLUMINATE in the donation comments box through the Clinics IV Life site. Your donation is fully tax deductible and we appreciate every cent donated. While this project is not directly related to Clinics IV Life it is for the benefit of the communities we serve. We'll keep the post updated with donations as we receive them. If you don't want to be credited, please let us know on the donation form. https://lnkd.in/gap3EFRb

Women are treated unfavourably on the basis of pregnancy, potential pregnancy, childbirth, pregnancy-related conditions & postpartum. ?Together, Let us voice this out today so that we can solve these gaps effectively & contribute in building strong foundation for the future of Nation & the World. ?Pregnancy discrimination can also sometimes be seen in more subtle ways. Mothers are seen in a different light. They are assumed as they are less committed & occupied with family responsibilities, which lead them to feel less valued by the organisation. ?Supervisors also respond negatively when mothers have to take urgent leave due to unforeseen child emergencies. ?Employers, Managers, Supervisors, bosses, let us be watchful & mindful about these red flag signs of discrimination at your organisation? ?It’s important for visionary oganisations to make sure, none of these happen in the workplace -Dismissing an employee during pregnancy or upon return from maternity leave without giving justifiable causes -Refusing to hire a pregnant applicant -Subjecting her to demotion or unfavourable transfer -Denying the same, or a similar, job to a pregnant employee when she returns from maternity leave Dr. Smita’s BirthRight Excellence programs designed for organisations prepares for smooth Onboarding of pregnant & maternity employee. These programs play very important role in ???????????????? ?????? ?????????????????????? & ?????????????????? ?????? ?????????????? ???????????????????????? ???? ?? ????????.?Yes, It works.. 1. How to accommodate the employee’s needs and preferences, such as flexible hours, remote work, modified duties, leave and return & arrangements for backup 2. How to provide inclusive training and development opportunities for the employee, and how to help them maintain their skills and knowledge 3. How to recognize and celebrate her achievements and milestones, and how to show appreciation and support 4. How to address any concerns or complications 5. How to provide the clarity & guided roadmap from pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding & postpartum health.? 6. Provide best practices for smooth transition to workplace after completing maternity break 7. Provide trusted guide from pregnancy till parenting “Onboarding pregnant employees is not only a legal obligation & her maternity right but also a strategic opportunity to foster a culture of diversity, inclusion & respect. #drsmitabisen #doctoronmission #womenhealth #linkedinnews #linkedinforcreators
