The "Portland To Paris" After Party sponsored by the amazing EP Climbing at this years 2024 Climbing Wall Association Summit was a success. It was such an honor to work with the very talented, Allison Justice, Hailey Caissie, and Portland Rock Gym to make it all happen! In honor of the Olympics, EP Climbing USA showcased their very own "Titan Boulder" that will be in Paris this year (you heard me right). An evening filled with great vendors, local food trucks, competitions, and the Climbing Business Journal's Annual Grip Showcase. A true masterpiece! This year, we took a new stance for our main stage backdrop with the mission to reusability, recycled materials, and decrease emissions of stage design. In 2018, at another show, I remembered seeing a hanging rope wall from a climbing manufacturer, and with planning the Climbing Wall Association main stage backdrop, I knew we had to give it a go. Working with Sterling Rope Co. and @knottypaw was a pleasure, and they are the key partners that helped make the dream happen! Been a great few days certifying as Climbing Wall Association Climbing Instructor here in Phuket. Another great example of local and national collaboration to facilitate this course. With staff from UWC Thailand, Rebel Rock Climbing Gym, NatureMind-ED and JUMP! Foundation all involved. A big standout was the involvement of one of our UWC Thailand students in this program, who has now blazed the trail for many more to follow in his steps. We hope this helps to contribute to the development of another generation of accredited and professional outdoor facilitators. Sent it #CWA2024 ?? ??♂??? ?? We kicked off the summit with keynote speaker, Sasha DiGiulian. Sasha shared her journey into climbing and how it led her to start SEND Bars. Afterwards, happy hour was the perfect opportunity to connect with industry peers. Later that night, CEO–Lea Ann Zuellig, Marketing Operations and Events Manager–Kristy Maute, and Social Media & Multimedia Manager–Anna Sepe attended the Women's Fireside Chat, building new connections with our fellow females in the industry. Day 2, our Technical Product Manager, Owen Richard, revealed our new safety products ?? And who could forget hosting the official Climbing Wall Association After Party with EP Climbing USA at the Portland Rock Gym?! The last day was more relaxed, giving us time to make a few final connections before heading home to Colorado. Did you attend CWA this year? What did you think?
