The ClimateCAP MBA Summit 2025 was an incredible event, and we'd like to extend our thanks and congratulations to the entire University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business team.??With 430 MBA students from 42 different business schools in attendance, the Summit brought together an incredible group of students, educators, speakers, and sponsors?for a memorable weekend. Every year, this conference brings an unparalleled opportunity for MBA students to?learn from leaders in the field, be inspired by the crucial climate work going on, and build relationships with each other- the leaders of consequence of tomorrow.? This year was no different with conference highlights like: -Andrew Isaacs'?Climate Science Essentials for Business Leaders lecture, translating?the systematic causes and effects of climate change on business and the economy -The impactful and paradigm-shifting work of Davida Herzl and Aclima, Inc., utilizing innovative data to?reduce emissions, improve public health, and deliver clean air for all -The thought-provoking panel?"Climate Risk | Are we headed into an uninsurable future?" featuring Dave Jones, Allison Wolff, and Kayla (Drozd) Calkins -A packed student trek to Charm Industrial to learn about their carbon sequestration process and innovative company -Aya de León, Berkeley's?Poet Laureate, bringing the crowd to their feet with her climate-inspired poem -and many, many other incredible speakers! Many conversations at the Summit were influenced by the ongoing waves of change that we are seeing here in the US and around the world.?Despite the uncertainty and frustration that many individuals and organizations are feeling, we heard a consistent message of hope and perseverance from speakers and attendees.?There was a universal agreement that this work is too important and the stakes too high for us not to carry on.?We continue to see hope when looking at the collective talent, ambition, and dedication of the MBA students and educators across our Partner School Network.?The Summit ended with a call to action- to take that passion and hope and move towards the future, driving climate?innovation, resilience, and adaptation into the business world. https://lnkd.in/eckFW3cm #climate #mba #climatetech #impactmba

I had the pleasure of moderating a session on the #Energy #Transition with two inspiring leaders: Urvi Parekh, Head of Energy at Meta, and Carla Peterman, the Chief Sustainability Officer at Pacific Gas and Electric Company - who are both University of California, Berkeley alumni! Still feeling energized (pun intended!) after an incredible discussion at ClimateCAP. Each brought unique perspectives into the conversation—Carla from the #utility side and Urvi from the #consumption side (navigating the massive #energy #demands of #AI-driven #data #centers). The session touched on the challenges and opportunities ahead as we transition toward a more #sustainable #energy #future.
