???????????????????? - we are excited to share that the Climate Leadership Fellowship (Cohort Six), which has been running for the past three months, ???????? ???????????????? ?????? ?????????????? ??????????. It’s been very inspiring to watch our fellows in action, as they lead climate education across Nigerian secondary schools & communities ???????????? ???? ????????????. Throughout the fellowship, our fellows have been working in communities across: ??10 Nigerian states ??Teaching climate change in 15 secondary schools ??Coaching 3,800 students and community members. They’ve been using our ?????????????? ?????????????????? ????????????????, ?????????? ???????? ?????????????????? ???? ????????—?????? ?????????? ???????????????????????????? ?????????????????? ?????? ???????????????? ?????????????? ???????????? ???? ??????????????. Seeing the impact of these resources on young minds and communities has brought us so much joy and reaffirmed our passion for founding this fellowship. Our fellows are have truly pioneering community-based climate leadership. ????????’?? ?????? ???????? ???????? ?????????????? ???????? ?????????? ??????????????????????: ??Created interactive climate games for easier understanding of complex concepts ??Fought desert #encroachment in the north through climate education ??Demostrated how solar panels generate electricity ??Introduced the PLAN #ClimateGame & set up green clubs ??Installed plastic receptacles to promote waste segregation ??Showed how #SolarIrrigation works for sustainable agriculture ??Crafted creative items from waste materials and inspiring recycling initiatives among students These activities are fostering a new generation of climate-conscious leaders! We are particularly excited that Peter collaborated with fellow Kudirat (CLF Kano) and Ecocyckle to introduce the ???????? ?????????? ?????? ?????? ?????? (????????) game at Cedar Presidential College, Kano. They engaged students and teachers with 54 environmental problem cards and 32 solution cards, promoting critical thinking on environmental issues. Also, they donated PLAN game cards to the school's science club for continued use and a sustainable learning experience. We are also impressed with Peter's dedication to the Adopt a School program. We were highly impressed by Kudirat's introduction of an environmental game developed in collaboration with ????????????????. Each student actively participated by discussing the challenges presented on each card, while solutions and the severity of each issue were displayed on the table. Congratulations to Climate Leadership Fellowship (CLF) Alumnus - Ogah Abeni whose company - CarbonEx won #3rd place at the FCMB Group FMO - Dutch entrepreneurial development bank AgriTech Hackathon delivered by Heave Ventures! The CarbonEx is a platform promoting the adoption of carbon farming while also leveraging satellite-based technology in conjunction with ground truthing data and Machine Learning to monitor and trade carbon credits generated from sequestration activities on vegetative lands across Nigeria and the rest of Africa. We are proud to announce ???????????????? ???????????? ???????????? as the Fellow of the Week. We were highly impressed by Daniella's approach to teaching greenhouse gases. Not only did she explain the theoretical concepts, but she also took the lesson a step further by incorporating a #practical demonstration. She brought in a solar-powered irrigation pump, showing the students how renewable energy can be used in real-world applications to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Please read my keynote speech delivered at the Climate Leadership Fellowship (CLF) orientation event, where we welcomed 30 exceptional fellows from 18 states across Nigeria in August 2024! These remarkable individuals are leaders of climate organizations, passionate advocates, dedicated government workers, and enthusiastic climate supporters. In my speech, I emphasized the urgent need for climate action, the critical role of youth leadership, and the importance of complementing and collaboration instead of competition. We are cultivating a new generation of leaders prepared to tackle the climate crisis and create a sustainable future for all.
