New research shows a noteworthy shift in how journalists covered a recent IPCC Report—moving away from negative, doom-laden messaging toward positive, solutions-based reporting. This shift mirrors what we've long advocated at Climate Interactive: that engaging people with practical climate solutions and highlighting the opportunities for action creates more pathways to meaningful progress than focusing exclusively on the threats. The En-ROADS Climate Solutions Simulator is a fast, powerful climate solutions scenario tool for understanding how we can achieve our climate goals through changes in energy, land use, consumption, agriculture, and other policies. In February, new climate-health impacts graphs were released, including a Crop Nutrient Decrease from CO2 Concentration graph. This new graph, developed by Climate Interactive, Ventana Systems, Inc., UMass Lowell Research Climate Change Initiative, and MIT Sloan School of Management and informed in part by the earlier work, insights, and support of JHIPH Faculty Director Samuel Myers, illustrates the average reductions in three key dietary nutrients (protein, iron and zinc) across four major staple crops. Did you know rising atmospheric CO2 concentration isn't just warming the planet? It's making our food less nutritious. ?? Our latest En-ROADS graph shows staple crops like wheat and rice could lose up to 11% of key dietary nutrients (protein, iron, and zinc) by 2100 if we don't take #ClimateAction. Test solution pathways in the simulator to prevent dietary deficiencies and preserve crop nutrient content: https://lnkd.in/eDUeSGny #FoodSecurity

Conditions that lead to drought will become more likely as global temperatures increase.??? Our latest interactive map in the #EnROADS Simulator from Probable Futures visualizes the likelihood of prolonged droughts around the world through 2100. Compare scenarios of inaction with those of implementing strong climate solutions to understand what’s at stake for your community?? https://lnkd.in/ejAWYqXw
