The CEC is a public-private-partnership centered on equity and innovation.

关于我们

The Collaborative (CEC) is a public-private-partnership that engages in climate innovation and climate action. Our aim is to construct more on-ramps to the global climate conversation. We are committed to building impactful partnerships. We assist our corporate partners build programs which address net-zero commitments, future workforce needs, ESG, global risk, and equity in our changing global climate. While the problems stemming from climate inequity are vast, the Collaborative is focused on opportunity for children (K-12), college-aged and pre-career youth from underserved groups which are not sufficiently engaged and historically under-resourced in the climate conversation, STEM learning, public health decision-making, and job opportunities. We don't do projects. We strive to build partnership, frameworks and ecosystems. Our Collaborative's backbone organization is the National Wildlife Federation in Reston, VA.

Two inspiring days of partnership and climate equity at COP. The people of Azerbaijan have been such gracious hosts — from the hotel staff and drivers to the keynote speakers, youth leaders, and people of all ages staffing the official COP zones. A special thank-you to Rufat Aghazada, who helped us with so much from badges to conference room and logistics. Should we not do COPs in oil-producing countries year after year after year? Absolutely. It’s been a little too frequent lately. But that doesn’t diminish the immense effort and coordination required for a small country to host a global conference of this scale. For me, it’s been a privilege to help organize a delegation that connects young people and educators to the global climate conversation and contributes to building the framework needed to elevate climate education on a global scale. A big shout-out to our SEMI members in the Climate Equity & Social Impact Working Group who have responded to our Call-to-Action (CTA) as we work to increase diversity, tech, climate equity, education, and partnership in this space. thanks to Pramod Kumar Sharma for taking the time to meet with us here on the ground and sharing invaluable wisdom with our group, and to Elizabeth Soper and my CTA co-authors Bia Hamed, Ph.D. and Marley Hauser for their pre-trip insights, co-authoring, guidance, and conversations. ARC (ARCedtech) and Westtown School Francine Locke, MS and Chris Wills and our student leaders. More to come about them…. Three more days to go… Climate Equity Collaborative COP29 Azerbaijan

Today is Children’s Environmental Health Day! While Children's Environmental Health Day is a day of celebration, it's also a day for action, for increasing awareness about the environmental threats to our children's health and future, and a day to collaborate on the challenges faced by our youngest. There is so much to celebrate this year, but still so far to go- and the stakes have never been higher. Today, more than three million people are without power after Hurricane Milton tore through Florida- a storm so strong that it spawned tornadoes in its wake. Throughout Appalachia, families are still struggling to find loved ones, connect with their community and resources, and just beginning to process the devastation of Hurricane Helene. In the western half of the US, over 61,000 acres of land continue to burn in wildfires. Our hearts are with the families whose lives have been upturned by these and other climate disasters. The climate crisis is a threat multiplier, one that children feel first and worst. Our children face a future that can feel uncertain, scary, and unsafe. We must work together to build a better future- one that places children at the center of all our decisions! https://cehday.org

Business Development Manager, Sustainability & ESG Innovating Sustainability and Growth in the Semiconductor Sphere! ????#FutureForward

I can’t wait to share insights from Climate Week NYC and emphasize the crucial role the semiconductor industry plays in advancing sustainability through education as an enthusiastic participant in the SEMI Sustainability Initiative. https://bit.ly/482ZIjG The semiconductor industry is key to a low-carbon future. By integrating sustainability into K-12 education, we can cultivate a workforce equipped for tomorrow's challenges. SEMI and its partners are launching a pioneering global K-12 program at COP29, designed to provide students with the skills for impactful climate action. Highlighting the need for climate literacy, this initiative emphasizes practical skills and global collaboration. It supports projects like energy audits and community gardens, which already enhance sustainability efforts in Taiwan and beyond. The industry’s unique position allows it to expand sustainable school networks and promote STEM education, enabling all students to engage with climate issues effectively. Programs like Global Climate Pathways and EcoSchools US showcase how STEM fosters critical thinking and problem-solving, preparing students for future careers. The semiconductor sector must lead in K-12 engagement, bridging technical talent development with sustainability goals by fostering cross-sector partnerships to ensure inclusive educational opportunities. Investing in early climate education underscores the industry’s commitment to sustainability, preparing future workforce leaders. Now is the time to show leadership by facilitating education that enables students to make meaningful contributions to the semiconductor industry and the global community. Grateful to our partners in the SEMI global K-12 climate engagement program, including the Climate Equity Collaborative and the National Wildlife Federation, for their invaluable support in this initiative. #Semiconductor #Sustainability #ClimateLiteracy #STEM #Education #SEMI

?? Echoing what Hermia C. mentioned, having a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to attend COP27 - UN Climate Change Conference has been impactful and transformative to my climate journey. During my stay in Egypt, I also had an opportunity to connect with Ritvik Jain, a University of Michigan- School for Environment and Sustainability (SEAS) alumni who was a student delegate representing University of Michigan. Thanks to him, I was empowered to submit my Master's application to SEAS. And here I am, a second-year Master's student specializing in Environmental Justice, Policy, and Sustainable Energy Systems in SEAS! ?? I’m also grateful to see that the climate advocacy efforts Hermia and I invested in have come to fruition, as it will be the first time for my alma mater to send student delegations to COP29 in November 2024. What a huge and amazing opportunity! ?? To all fellow The Chinese University of Hong Kong students, no matter if you are avid advocates for climate action, or are passionate about climate advocacy, international relations, and climate policy, this is THE program that would give you lots of exposure through mentorship with Professor Amos, interactions with climate and youth leaders, along with sharing lived experiences with global youth advocates during COP29! ?If you have any questions about COP (or any UNFCCC-related matters), please feel free to contact me and Hermia. We would be more than happy to help you navigate the systemic intricacies of COP! ?? Good luck with your application!
