Climate Clock Ambassador Joseph Ibrahim is representing us at COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan this year! ?? Today, Joseph was part of a group of Global South communities, amplifying their demands for climate justice and equitable solutions. ?? The Global South has faced the harshest consequences of climate change, despite contributing the least to the crisis. At COP29, Joseph is championing urgent issues such as: ?? The need for climate finance to fund mitigation, adaptation, and loss & damage efforts. ?? A just energy transition that prioritizes renewable energy and ends reliance on fossil fuels. ?? Holding Global North governments accountable for their fair share of action and reparations. This COP is yet another crucial moment to address historical injustices and fight for a sustainable, inclusive future. ? The Climate Clock is ticking, and we must #ActInTime to implement real solutions that protect people and the planet. Stay tuned for updates from the frontlines of climate action at COP29! ??? #COP29 #ClimateClock #ClimateJustice #GlobalSouth #ActInTime #ClimateFinance
关于我们
The Climate Clock is one of the most dynamic climate campaigns in the world today, melding art, science, technology, and grassroots organizing to get the world to #ActInTime. The project is centered on a simple tool: a clock that counts down the critical time window to reach zero emissions (our “Deadline”), while tracking our progress on key solution pathways (“Lifelines”). By showing us what we need to do by when, the Clock frames our critical mission — a rapid and just transition to a safe climate future — and puts it at the very forefront of our attention. Since its famous launch in New York in September 2020, Climate Clock teams have sprung up across the world from Chiapas to Kazakhstan, from Korea to Glasgow. Join in.

Meet Dorothy Mutimushi from Zambia, part of our Women in Climate series! ?? Dorothy is on a mission to combat deforestation and drought in Zambia, one of the world’s deforestation hotspots, by leading tree-planting initiatives across rural communities and schools. With support from local partners, she’s working to restore forests and inspire climate action. Dorothy believes that women’s voices must be heard in the fight for environmental justice. “Women can be leaders in promoting ecology and sustainability.” ?? #WomenInClimate?#ClimateAction?#Zambia?#TreePlanting?#EnvironmentalJustice?#ClimateClock?#ActInTime

We are in a Climate Emergency. Please vote like it. Every election brings the chance for new compromises, but most importantly new actions. How many false solutions can Earth still take? We have 4 years to prevent the worst impacts of climate change. A window of hope to #ActInTime and to protect our lives. The fate of the world is on each vote for the climate. Leaders chosen in each country will continue to have power over our futures. Climate Justice can no longer be just a promise.

?? As COP29 approaches, our Climate Clock Ivory Coast team is ramping up efforts to amplify their demands for climate finance and a fair transition away from fossil fuels. For years, Global North countries have lagged in their climate commitments, particularly in supporting the Global South through climate finance. This isn’t just an obligation—it’s reparations for the historic and ongoing damage caused by their disproportionate emissions. At a recent workshop during the Global Week of Climate Action, the Ivory Coast team tackled these issues head-on. They discussed the harmful impact of fossil fuels, the importance of transitioning to renewable energy, and the critical need for fair climate finance to empower countries in the Global South to lead their own energy transitions. ?? It’s time to push for a rapid, just transition to renewables. Let’s hold leaders accountable and fight for climate justice. ??? #ClimateClockIvoryCoast?#COP29?#ClimateFinance?#JustTransition?#ActInTime?#ClimateClock

Warmer oceans lead to more hurricanes. Teaching, talking and raising awareness about climate science is a key part to understand why hurricane Milton and Helene have left devastation and impacted so many communities. If we can't slow down global warming, these storms become will be more frequent. Delay equals denial. Our monumental clock at Union Square has a new message of support and hope that we will #ActInTime to prevent more scenarios of loss and vulnerability caused by the fossil fuel industry. If you can, please support those on the frontlines. More info at https://cclock.org/help
