AI for Good: How Mission-Driven Organizations Can Leverage Technology Without Losing Humanity Client Cloudcare is proud to help mission-driven organizations, including non-profits and faith-based organizations. And with the introduction of AI, we are invested in learning how to continue to help our clients grow while also helping them operate within bounds they’re comfortable with. While much of the conversation around AI is centered on opportunities and innovations, there is also so much fear (and that fear is understandable). Three big questions that we know will matter to our clients are: 1. Will AI replace human workers?? 2. Will interactions become inauthentic with the introduction of AI? 3. How easily will people be led into unethical territory by utilizing AI? The following conversation (link below) between Coastal and representatives from multiple faith-based organizations is a thoughtful discussion worth a listen about the concerns of implementing AI. Particularly interesting was the information that Salesforce Solution Engineer, Michael Roberts gave about the Salesforce team in place for the ethical use of AI, which is guided by important principles like: ?? Accuracy ????Honesty ?? Safety ?? Human Involvement ?? Sustainability But there’s also a discussion of how it’s currently being utilized— from translation, making connections in a Global landscape more possible, to event-planning using AI apps. Most commonly, though, the panelists spoke of their organizations utilizing AI to accomplish the operational tasks that can take up so much of someone’s time — and this is important — not to replace the workers, but to free up their time. So, for nonprofits who are considering how to implement AI, wondering if they even SHOULD, and concerned about the consequences, I think it might be helpful to reframe the conversation, beginning with the understanding that AI should not replace the people and the relationships that are so important to us. However, AI might provide opportunities to focus on people and relationships when AI is leveraged to get administrative or operational tasks done. YoungLife Director of Product Walt Mays put it this way: “The more time we’re able to compress for the things they don’t have to do, it opens up time for them to do the thing that ONLY they can do.”? And when considered this way, the use of AI doesn’t devalue the work that can be accomplished this way but might elevate the work that only humans can do — and further allow us to devote time to the things that matter most. https://lnkd.in/gTSrfcNe
