The Community Loan Fund of the Capital Region is a non-profit community development financial institution serving the Capital Region of New York State -- Albany, Columbia, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Warren & Washington Counties. Incorporated in 1985, our mission is to promote sustainable community development efforts for economically underserved people and communities. We provide access to capital by pooling investments and donations from socially concerned individuals and organizations, and re-lending it to non-profit organizations for housing and community improvement and to micro enterprises for business development. Explore our work and join us in this partnership by becoming an investor, a donor, or a nonprofit or small business borrower – together we can bring communities to life and life to communities.

The Community Loan Fund continued to hit the road today distributing grant funding received from Federal Home Loan Bank! Today, the Loan Fund was represented by Deputy Director and Director of Lending, Walt Brady, Director of Community Relations & Development Mike Martin, and Senior Lending Officer Dorian Wells, as we visited Primeau Fahy Studios in Troy, and Mom Starts Here in Schenectady! Mom Starts Here works with Capital Region families along their parenting journey, providing support for their internal and external needs and providing critical supplies as needed. Executive Director Kyla Schmidt is pictured here with Dorian Wells. Primeau Fahy Studios has been a stalwart in the communications and marketing field for over 25 years in the Capital Region. Led by Kelly Fahey, the organization has been in their Troy location since 2020, with help from the Community Loan Fund!

Deputy Director of the Community Loan Fund Walt Brady and Director of Community Relations & Development Mike Martin were in Schenectady today as CLF presented X-Quest with a $5,000 grant to their organization. In partnership with Federal Home Loan Bank of NY, the Community Loan Fund was able to present grant funds to current and former borrowers who continue to make a difference in their community. With the funding, X-Quest will be able to install a new furnace so their programming can continue smoothly over the winter. X-Quest is lead by Judy Atchinson (pictured above) and is a after school program for underprivileged youth in the City of Schenectady. Judy created X-Quest over a decade ago and says the best part of her job is seeing kids grow up and come back to volunteer and mentor the younger children. Judy is a true pillar of the city and we would like to shine a light on the tremendous work that she does in our community!
