???? Our sincere thanks to Masoumeh Bararzadeh Ledari for sharing their work using CLEWs (as we requested earlier this week). ??
The highlights from this work are AMAZING:
In the baseline scenario, renewable energy and carbon capture supply an average of 12.5% of electricity ? demand over 20?years. With the implementation of the emissions reduction scenario, which brings a 30% reduction in CO2 equivalent emissions, this share INCREASES TO 33%, with solar energy ?? reaching full capacity by 2030. ???
The contribution of greenhouse ?? ??? ?? ?? farming to food production rises FROM LESS THAN 1% in 2020 TO 89% by 2040 under the emissions reduction scenario. ??
The model predicts that in the baseline scenario, 288,000 jobs will be created over 20?years, with 30% of these jobs stemming from the development of greenhouse farming. Under the emissions reduction scenario, this figure INCREASES TO 334,000 JOBS, primarily DRIVEN BY THE EXPANSION OF RENEWABLE ENERGY.
The implementation of the emissions reduction scenario leads to a reduction of ?? 6 million tons ?? of Carbon dioxide equivalent over the 20?years.

I’m excited to share a recent study published in the International Journal of Environmental Science and Technology, titled "Integrated Resource Management Subsequent to Climate Change: A Nexus Approach for Energy, Water, and Food Security". The paper was co-authored with significant contributions from my hardworking student, Hamid Esmaeilinejad, under the guidance of Dr. Joda.
The study develops a 20-year Energy-Water-Food Nexus model to address #climatechangechallenges, focusing on #foodandenergysecurity, efficient resource utilization, and reducing environmental impacts. It provides valuable insights into sustainable development and offers a roadmap for #greenjobcreation, emission reductions, and securing energy and food supply in arid regions. This work was conducted using the #CLWEssoftware, a subset of the OSeMOSYS model, to perform the integrated analysis.
I would like to express my deepest thanks to Hamid and Dr. Joda for their invaluable contributions to this project. ??
