Plenty of people had built seller cost estimates, BUT: ?? The data was collected ONCE, then went out of date The data in our tool gets updated every month as our team feeds in fresh data ?? The data was based on national averages, which are more confusing than useful Realtor fees (the biggest home selling expense) vary from 4.90% to 6.70% — that's a big spread! Our tool is based on data we collected at a county (or smaller) level, and then aggregated up to give folks a State-level estimate ?? This was a labor of love: our research team built processes to survey realtors and title companies, and collated info on property taxes, transfer taxes and recording fees nationwide to make this possible. ?? Here's what's changing (and isn't) for agents, clients, and lenders?? ?? 73% of agents think the settlement will have a negative impact on the industry – but 55% support requiring buyer’s agency agreements up-front! ?? 78% of agents expect the commission changes will make it harder for first-time homebuyers. ?? Sellers are starting to offer concessions to keep deals moving, and agents are guiding them through this. ?? 57% of agents report that others in their area of have already lowered their buyer’s agent commission rates in response to the settlement.
