?????Brrr, it's chilly in the Tennessee Valley! The cold snap is upping energy demand, and TVA is asking for VOLUNTARY power conservation requests. Particularly from 7AM to 11AM ET tomorrow and Friday. Here's some friendly tips to help conserve and save money on your energy bill: 1??Thermostat Tweaks: Heating systems will use a lot of energy during this time, which translates to higher energy bills. Lower your thermostat to a temperature that is comfortable and safe. Each degree lower can save you around 1 to 3 percent on your heating costs. 2??Layer Up: Wear layers and use blankets to keep warm without cranking up the heat. 3??Hold off on using appliances like dishwashers and dryers or run them during the warmest time of day. 4??Turn off any non-essential electricity, including decorative lights. 5??Open curtains during the day to let the natural warmth in and close them at night to insulate.
