Yesterday, Cleveland Public Library welcomed Ruby Bridges—a living legend in the fight for civil rights and a pioneer of educational equality. Introduced by former Browns cornerback, Hanford Dixon (Stay in the Game! Attendance Network - Browns) , and interviewed by Congresswoman, Shontel Brown, Ruby engaged with students, answering thoughtful questions, offering invaluable insights, and encouraging the next generation to remain on the right side of hope. Adding more fun to the day was Chomps who set a lively and uplifting tone before Ruby took the stage. It was a day of community spirit, learning, and inspiration.

This weekend, the West Park branch came alive with a vibrant Family Fall Festival! ?? From wreath-making and candy pumpkin stacking to storytime and hands-on science experiments, the day was fun for everyone. We were also thrilled to have MoNique Kirkland, an amazing author, educator, and speaker, join us for the festivities!

Cleveland Public Library is honored to welcome civil rights icon and trailblazer Ruby Bridges on November 25, 2024! Ms. Bridges will connect with local youth to share her powerful story and discuss her latest book, "Dear Ruby, Hear Our Hearts". As we aim to foster learning and inclusion, this is an incredible opportunity for the next generation to be inspired by a true trailblazer.

Thank you to everyone who attended and engaged in the Beyond the Past: Indigenous Voices in the 21st Century discussion. It was inspiring to hear Jessica Vallejo, Kara Bryden, and moderator Dr. Paul Edward Montgomery Ramirez share their insights on Indigenous resilience and representation in today’s media and educational spaces. This event showcased the importance of amplifying Indigenous voices and brought forward questions that resonate deeply in our communities. Let’s keep this conversation going—together, we can foster understanding and advocacy for Indigenous stories and contributions.??
