Exactly one year ago today, we unveiled “Time and Space,” an art installation by Viktor Schreckengost located at our airport’s central checkpoint! Here’s a quick history: ?? 1955: Schreckengost is commissioned by CLE to design a mural for the outside entrance to CLE, which would become “Time and Space.”? ?? 1980s: CLE underwent renovation, and the mural was dismantled & stored ?? 2016: ICA - Art Conservation was commissioned to restore the exhibit ?? 2023: The exhibit was unveiled once again Here’s to many more years of “Time and Space” welcoming travelers to CLE!?

We’d like to congratulate our Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) Department on receiving the Mission: Lifeline EMS Recognition award from the American Heart Association for the fifth time! ?? ???? Awarded in recognition of outstanding collaboration, including with other first responders, our ARFF team recently heard about a serious head-on collision and arrived at the scene of the accident unprompted. “I’m not sure how [CLE’s] crew knew about the accident, but an ARFF ambulance and pumper arrived… very shortly after our crew and took charge of one of the patients. Their assistance allowed our members to stay focused on… the other patient,” said Brook Park Fire Chief Mark T. Higgins. “Every second counted for our patient. The ARFF response may have been the difference between life and death for him.” “It is a great honor to be able to assist our mutual aid partners,” said Tony Bucco, Interim Assistant Commissioner of Public Safety and Emergency Management, commending our team for their outstanding initiative and teamwork and extending special thanks to Interim ARFF Chief William Davis. Paramedics from CLE’s Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) squad recently trained #TeamCLE on safety skills including CPR, AED use, Stop the Bleed, and fire extinguisher protocol! “This training, as with the first aid/CPR training, can truly save lives,” said ARFF Lieutenant Chuck Glazer, who led each session alongside ARFF Paramedic Matt Urie. “We are very thankful that our fellow airport employees are eager and willing to help in the case of an emergency,” added Urie. “While we are always on call 24/7, it is always a good feeling to know that we have employees who are trained and willing to help if necessary.” How has your airport prioritized safety? When passengers’ needs change, we change with them. In its prime, the old Sheraton Hotel provided a comfortable, fun, and convenient place for travelers to spend the night just steps away from our main terminal. Fast forward to today, and the hotel's demolition has officially begun! Over the next several months, Baumann Enterprises will safely clear the former hotel space to make way for more convenient passenger parking. With expanded capacity on its way and the increasing popularity of our new parking reservation system, parking at CLE just keeps getting easier. Here’s to many more changes on the horizon, all working in harmony to create a better traveler experience! ??
