She specializes in vision exams, helping patients choose the right glasses and contact lenses. She also assists our ophthalmologists by managing our medical patients' glaucoma and age-related macular degeneration (AMD).

Please join us in welcoming Dr. Rachel Mathie. Dr. Mathie is a residency trained optometrist offering comprehensive eye care services and treatment and management of various ocular diseases. Dr. Mathie is an Ohio native and graduated from Louisville High School. She is a "double buckeye" having earned a Bachelor of Science at The Ohio State University and Doctorate of Optometry at The Ohio State University College of Optometry, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She continued her education by pursuing an ocular disease residency at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center, where she learned complex disease management of the eyes. Dr. Mathie enjoys running, cycling, volleyball, traveling, and spending time with her husband and family. She currently resides in Cleveland.

Please join us in welcoming Dr. Abinaya Thenappan. Dr. Thenappan is an ophthalmologist specializing in cataract, refractive, and anterior segment surgery. A Southern California native, Dr. Thenappan graduated from Claremont McKenna College with a major in science and management and a minor in biotechnology. She earned her medical degree from Columbia Medical School, where she was deeply involved in ophthalmology research. She then completed her ophthalmology residency at the University of Southern California. In her free time, Dr. Thenappan enjoys playing tennis ??, spending time with her family dog ?? Simba, reading mystery novels ??, and exploring new cities ?? with her husband. ??
