Cleveland Builds’ graduate and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 38 member, Maurice Bogard, was a special guest The White House today. Maurice was joined by his sister, Natasha Johnson, and sons, Aiden and Jaxson. This was made possible by Justin M. Bibb and Michelle Rose’s vision, Cleveland City Council’s investment in Cleveland Builds, and Renee Timberlake’s leadership. Maurice is currently working with Einheit Electric Construction Co. on a project at Cleveland Guardians’s Progressive Field. Dan Gallagher

As Cleveland Builds enters the last quarter of the year, we have placed more than 80 career-seekers this year and we're working hard to surpass 100 placements. While these record numbers are important, what is really important is that each one of these placements is of a person who is striving to improve their life. Each person placed is being given an opportunity to earn good pay and benefits and to contribute meaningfully to the quality of life in our community. Had a wonderful time last night at the National Association of Women in Construction (Cleveland) Gender Bias In our Industry Panel. Cleveland Builds was well represented with our board member Tari S. Rivera (Regency Construction Services, Inc.) on the panel. A few of our women were in attendance as well. Darlene Glass, Doreen Cannon, and Calli Frehmeyer. Also in attendance was board member Tom Martin of TH Martin (SMACNA). Thank you to Jackie Ruhlin and Construction Employers Association (CEA) for the invite!
