?? #ScamAlert: Florida residents are being targeted by phone calls threatening arrest for failing to comply with federal jury service. The scammer tells the victim that he or she can avoid arrest or other negative consequences by making a payment, which may include purchasing a pre-paid gift card and then giving the card number to the scammer. Do not provide the caller with any personal or financial information. The U.S. Marshals Service and FBI are urging people to report these scams to their local FBI office, https://lnkd.in/eFY_vD3w.

Property owners who disagree with the property value, assessment, classification or exemption status for their property listed on their Notice of Proposed Property Taxes sent to them by Palm Beach County Property Appraiser's Office have one week left (through September 16) to file any dispute with our office's independent Value Adjustment Board. The VAB is an independent entity and is not affiliated with the Property Appraiser or the Tax Collector. It consists of two county commissioners, one school board member and two citizen members who approve and hire Special Magistrates to settle disputes during scheduled quasi-judicial hearings. Community Engagement Manager Gyna Ward was at Palm Beach State College this morning for Junior Achievement of South Florida's JA Career Exploration Fair. High school students from The School District of Palm Beach County were able to learn about how our office supports county departments, the 15th Judicial Circuit and manages over 1,000 statutory duties to help make Palm Beach County an incredible place to live.

Great work from our Royal Palm Beach Branch Office's Court Specialist Diedre Moreland. Her excellent support with a customer inspired them to reach out to us, saying, "I was very stressed out regarding a ticket my husband received, and Diedre was wonderful with walking me through our options and the process to rectify them. She brought me from an 8 down to a 2 with my anxiety!"
