The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is made up of 50 student-athletes from all teams. The mission of SAAC is to amplify the voices of student-athletes to serve their community, advocate on behalf of their teams, and unite and connect with athletic staff and administration through leadership and commitment. #sadevweek2024
Microinternships provide a great hands on and abbreviated opportunity to learn about potential career fields of interest. This last summer we had students all the way across the country, from Google in San Francisco, to Adobe and The Late Show in New York City! #sadevweek2024
Each summer, we take a group of student-athletes and staff to the Black Student-Athlete Summit. In addition to the opportunity to connect with peers from universities across the country, our students head to the summit a few days early to meet with local companies and participate in local community service work! #sadevweek2024
Each semester we are able to provide 30 paid on-campus internship opportunities for our student-athletes, totaling 90 experiences per year! This is done in collaboration with our partners in University Professional Internship and Co-op Program (UPIC), and friends at ONE Clemson. As part of the UPIC Beyond the Game program, student-athletes participate in 5 professional development workshops. The semester culminates with a presentation board gallery walk where supervisors, coaches, and administration can hear from their student-athletes on their experience in their internship! #sadevweek2024 ONE Clemson, Center for Career and Professional Development-Clemson University
In our 2023-2024 academic year, we welcomed over 200 industry professionnals to campus (and virtually) to our 6 career programs to connect with our student-athletes. A special thank you to all of our partners and professionals that make these events possible and who pour so heavily into our students! #sadevweek2024
In September, we hosted our annual Tiger Networking Social for our junior student-athletes. We had over 50 employers and professionals in attendance to connect and network with our students interested in learning more about their career field. #sadevweek2024
Throughout their time at Clemson student-athletes participate in 6 Career Development programs that are based on our four-year career development model. These events allow our students to understand their values related to their career path, while intentionally developing tangible skills to help them become competitive applicants in the job market upon graduation. We connect student-athletes to internships, job shadowing experiences, full-time jobs, and offer individual career advising to each student-athlete. #sadevweek2024
POWER includes an 8-session curriculum rooted in ownership and focuses on: leadership skills, networking and community building. The program concludes with an experiential learning trip and student-led leadership conference. This last summer, our POWER cohort traveled to Portland and Seattle to connect with 50+ employers and professionals! #sadevweek2024
