Once again, this quarter we have chosen to support Oceana with a gift. As you likely all know, I'm a supporter of ocean health and the preservation of its inhabitants. I've learned recently that, due to drilling operations and unsafe environmental operations in general, many thousands (13,000 +) wild sea turtles are killed annually of the Southern coast of the US and through the Gulf of Mexico. This is a result of direct threats to life and to habitat destruction. Folks - we simply have to stop injuring and killing our oceans and the critters they support. Simple actions on all of our parts help - drive less, stop using plastics, recycle, simply consume less and squander nothing. Let your elected officials know where you stand on the issue of sea life and healthy oceans. Finally - send some money so others can help create the change we need: https://lnkd.in/gCrb77BZ Thanks, all! ??

We're working with friends John Smidt and Zach Nichol on the design for a new microbrew pub to be located in Lafayette, Colorado. We're in the preliminary planning phases now. The structure intends to be an engineered steel buildig within which we'd place a microbrewery and all equipment associated with that, plus a restaurant and partly covered parking (doubling as a farmer's market location and other community event spaces. What do you think?

We're working on the design for 24 luxury condominiums to be located in west Longmont. The proposal calls for 24 units spread over 4 buildings, underground parking, and a strong emphasis on open areas and leisure. The buildings have partly below-grade parking, and 3 floors above grade, served by an elevator and stair system. Each unit will have 3 - 4 bedrooms including a spacious primary suite, 4 baths, outdoor covered entertainment space, and a western exposure. Amenities as shown on the plan may include large open areas with pathways (purple), a private access road (blue), open pool and deck (yellow), fitness / flex room, workshop and maintenance space (pink), organic gardens for the owners. Although conceptual at this time, we're hopeful that this program will come into being, thus filling a necessary building type and use in eastern Boulder County.

We're in the bidding phase for the Eads library renovation. This challenging project will renovate two existing 100+ year old buildings on Maine Street in downtown Eads in eastern Colorado. Towns on the eastern plains have been losing their population to the cities along the front range. With this renovation, we plan to activate Maine Street - providing a public use, a meeting space, and create additional incentives for folks to come, stay, and enjoy the charm of a small Colorado town and the new amenities it will offer. One highlight of the project plan, in addition to the very useful interior space, is the west side garden, with a memorial wall, contemplation space, and public gardens. This enhances the biophilic response of the project as a whole, creates an opportunity for public donations to help fund the project, and another use not currently present in the town. Folks - Our 1% for the environment this past quarter goes to Oceana once again. Oceana is an organization who's mission is to protect marine mammals and fish, coastlines and all things ocean, as the name suggests. The imperative at this time is the protection of north Atlantic right whales. With 356 left in the world, the species is on the brink of extinction, and immediate, ongoing action is crucial to their survival. Please follow the link below and donate to this worthy organization. It is also worth noting that the Endangered Species Act was signed into law in 1973 with full bipartisan support in both chambers of congress. Terry Tempest Williams calls that Act "an act of Love". Upon its passage into law, then President Richard Nixon spoke of the rich tapestry of species as "a vital part of the heritage we all share as Americans". We need to feel the same honor and commit to its preservation principles, and to prevent any threat to stymie or weaken the protections of this Act.
