ClearCam is an Austin, TX based, MedTech startup, that develops technology to improve the surgeons' visual field during minimally invasive procedures nationwide. Our device, ClearScope?, provides continuous vision and clarity throughout laparoscopic procedures without removing the scope from the body cavity. The wiper, swift tip?, cleans the distal lens of the scope with a simple twist. ClearScope? slides onto the scope as a sleeve and secures with a tether that wraps around the light port. The wiper is connected to a mechanical ships wheel that is rotated using minimal force. ClearScope is effective against condensation, blood, fat and fluids. No extra accessories required. Did you know - According to AORN's Dianne Taylor, Lens fogging is such a persistent issue in minimally invasive surgery that even they have developed a guide to help combat it. ????Nearly two-thirds of surgeons report dealing with fog, often caused by temperature and humidity fluctuations when the laparoscope is removed and reinserted.?????????? At ClearCam, we’re focused on eliminating these visual obstructions In-vivo ??. Check out the guide AORNs article and tell us, how do you manage lens fogging in your practice? https://lnkd.in/gSaqSSBV #SurgicalInnovation #LensClarity #AORN #PatientSafety

?? Did you know? ??Minimally invasive techniques were developed to reduce preterm labor, the "Achilles heel" of fetal surgery. ??? From the University of Washington, this recent article, by Drs. Oluyinka Olutoye, MD, PhD., Luc Joyeux, Alice King, Michael Belfort, MD, PhD, Timothy Lee, and Sundeep Keswani, MD, MBA, dives into common prenatal conditions and how minimally invasive techniques are making a difference. ??????Fun fact, Dr. Belfort is actually part of Texas Children's Hospital, where we've had the opportunity to witness firsthand the incredible innovations underway. ?? Key takeaway: Innovative techniques—including enhanced imaging modalities ???—are reducing risks for both mother and baby, pushing fetal surgery into a safer future. ???? #FetalSurgery #MinimallyInvasiveSurgery #MedicalInnovation #MaternalHealth #surgicalvisualization #surgeoninnovators https://lnkd.in/gBUvJ3yS

Did you know - A recent study showed that when moderate-to-heavy bleeding occurs during surgery, the scope’s vision can be repeatedly obscured as blood inside the port contacts the cleaned scope each time it’s reinserted. ?? According to Aurora Pryor, MD, MBA, FACS, FASMBS, WILLIAM J MANNING JR MD PC, and Andrew T Bates, MD a common quick fix is using a cotton-tipped applicator to clean the inside of a 5 mm port. But when that doesn’t work, surgeons need to remove or replace the port, and in some cases, switch to an open procedure to maintain adequate visibility. ??? ?? Foggy Lenses: The Hidden Challenge in Laparoscopic Surgery ?? A recent study at gulabdevi hospital, aimed to uncover the impact of lens fogging during laparoscopic procedures. Here's what Usman Ali Rahman, Muhammad Adil Iftikhar, Khalil Ahmed, Mohammad Zia Ul Miraj found: Out of 53 hours and 13 minutes of total operative time across 70 surgeries, an average of 4.11 contamination events occurred per case. On average, 31.2% of the operation was spent with a foggy lens, and 7.92% of the time was wasted on cleaning! ?? The takeaway? A significant part of surgery is performed with a foggy display, leading to inefficiencies and risks. It’s time to explore better solutions for clearer, faster surgeries! ?? #SurgicalInnovation #ClearVision #MedTech #HealthcareEfficiency #LaparoscopicSurgery https://lnkd.in/gjGMX4NK

?? Misleading Perceptions in Laparoscopic Surgery: A Deep Dive into Human Error ?? Did you know that 97% of laparoscopic bile duct injuries stem from visual perceptual illusions? ?? Groundbreaking research by Lawrence W. Way, MD, Lygia Stewart, MD, Walter Gantert, MD, Kingsway Liu, MD, Crystine M. Lee, MD, Karen Whang, MD, and John G. Hunter, MD reveals it’s not a lack of skill, knowledge, or judgment, but how we see things that aren't really there. ?? Out of 252 cases, only 3% were due to technical skill faults. The rest? Misperception. This shows how critical it is to have a clear visual field and unobstructed lens during surgery. Misperception can be powerful—especially in high-stakes environments. #ClearVision #CognitiveScience #Laparoscopy #HumanError #SurgicalInnovation #PerceptionMatters #HealthcareResearch https://lnkd.in/gMaKDf2i
