Thank you, Sysmex America, Inc., for providing these wonderful and inclusive opportunities! Support like this helps our individuals achieve independence, become an active part of their community, and live their fullest lives possible. We appreciate you!
At Sysmex, we believe in the power of inclusivity and the incredible potential of every individual. That's why we're thrilled to highlight our TeamUP initiative. We've partnered with Clearbrook, an organization dedicated to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and together, we're creating meaningful employment experiences. TeamUP is more than just a job program. It's about empowerment, opportunity and building a supportive community. We're proud to share that three talented individuals have joined our kit packaging team at Sysmex Reagents America (SRA). Their professionalism, consistency and attention to detail have truly impressed our team, proving that when given the opportunity, everyone can shine. This March, during Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, let's celebrate the contributions of individuals with disabilities and commit to building more inclusive workplaces. We're honored to be a part of this journey. #DevelopmentalDisabilitiesAwarenessMonth #TeamUP #Sysmex #Clearbrook #MakingADifference

March is also National Social Work Month! We are so thankful for the wonderful professionals out there who put mental health first, and make it their mission to help others be their best selves. Here are some fast facts: ?? The theme for Social Work Month 2025 is "Social Work: Compassion + Action" ?? While there isn't a universally recognized color for social work, green is often associated with the profession, symbolizing growth, health, and the ability to heal ?? Social workers are everywhere—in our communities, in hospitals, the halls of Congress and in local governments, corporations, social service agencies, veterans’ centers, as well as schools, sporting institutions, and more ?? According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the social work profession is projected to grow 7 percent between now and 2033—faster than the average for all occupations #Clearbrook #SocialWorkers #SocialWorkMonth #MentalHealthMatters

Did you know? ?? Wearing whacky socks for World Down Syndrome Day has purpose! When looking at the makeup of your chromosomes (karyotype), they resemble pairs of socks. People with Down Syndrome have 3 copies of their 21st chromosome, which makes their karyotype look like mismatched socks. This is also the significance of the day falling on 3/21! Participating is meant to start conversations that raise awareness and advocacy for the rights and inclusion of people with Down Syndrome. Don't forget to wear your whacky socks today, and show them off in the comments! ?? #Clearbrook #WorldDownSyndromeDay #RockYourSocks #LotsOfSocks #InclusionMatters

We want to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to Rivers Casino Des Plaines for funding our Vocational Simulation Lab (VSL) through their Rivers Gives foundation! The VSL is housed within our 1815 Community Employment Services and Day Program space at the Clearbrook Plaza. It is full of equipment to help teach necessary job skills for our individuals to work out in the community. From scanning documents to bagging groceries to folding and hanging clothes and so much more. These two rooms provide endless training opportunities to help our individuals gain and maintain meaningful employment and work as independently as possible. A special thank you to Yetzirah Navarrete from Rivers for coming out to attend our ribbon-cutting ceremony and taking a tour of the new space! #Clearbrook #RiversCasino #RiversGives #CommunityEmployment #JobTraining

Recently, Clearbrook hosted an event with Illinois Assistive Technology Program - IATP, where over 15 provider organizations gathered to hear about some of the latest assistive technology options and programs for people who live in Illinois. They spoke about their device loan and reuse programs, where they provide assessments to determine what devices they have that may be helpful to maximize independence for those with disabilities. IATP also has a "makers" program, where engineers create new devices to help with daily living, and can even help with “smart kitchens” and “smart homes." IATP works with more than people with disabilities, they also work with seniors to keep them more independent and in their homes for as long as possible. Attendees enjoyed breakfast, learning, and testing out some of the devices they brought! #Clearbrook #IATP #DisabilityServices #Illinois
