Months ago, Jenise Fretz and Emma Ofria and I started brainstorming how to infuse the magic of Disney into our holiday campaign in promotion of our Disney holiday brand film “The Boy & The Octopus”. We wanted to capture moments of holiday wonder, and my mind kept returning to a Christmas morning in 1997 in the small rural town of Snohomish, WA. Snow was a rare sight there, but that year, we woke up to a world transformed. Blankets of fresh snow covered the town, shimmering in the early light. My family and I rushed outside in our pajamas, laughing and marveling at the unexpected winter wonderland. It was a moment of pure Christmas magic—exactly the kind of joy we hoped to recreate in our campaign. A first-of-its kind snowing billboard on the Sunset Strip using technology similar to our theme parks to celebrate our new industry acclaimed holiday short, "The Boy and the Octopus." Emma Ofria was our team lead this project and it went off without a hitch after joining our team only a few months ago. Adam at MagicSnow’s enthusiasm for doing the impossible (making it snow on Sunset Blv in Hollywood) is infectious. Thanks to Terri Nguyen for all the work on the media side and to the folks at Clear Channel to buying into the vision as well. And of course Bella Santangelo on our team that works across all our projects!
