?? Cleantech for Nordics featured on BBC News! ?? In this morning’s broadcast of BBC News Business Daily on Northvolt, our very own Eva Andersson shared her insights on the Northvolt crisis and the broader cleantech landscape. ?? Our message: There is a lot of strong innovation happening in the Nordics, and the strength of our cleantech ecosystem goes far beyond any single company. As Eva highlights in the segment: "It’s concerning when a major company faces difficulties, but I also don’t think one company could make or break the entire sector. Last year alone there were over 200 investments in cleantech in only Sweden, and looking back historically we do have a strong legacy of environmental work and early integration of environmental concerns into industries, goals and policies”. We truly hope this isn’t the end of Northvolt’s journey, but it’s a good reminder that the Nordic green industry is much bigger than any one company and that there is a lot of strong innovation out there. We're happy to share that we're part of the BRAVE project, which aims to mobilise a combined €150m of new investment into local energy systems. With funding from the European Union’s Interreg North Sea programme, we're finding scalable public-private approaches to break out of the ‘pilot trap’ for cleantech at the local level. Cleantech Scandinavia will connect a network of infrastructure and other investors to the partners’ scale-up challenges, ranging from low-carbon public mobility, residential solar, and energy communities to industrial hydrogen hubs. Our role is to bring market validation to the business and investment models being explored in the BRAVE partnership. Without a clear industrial policy, Sweden risks losing its chance of becoming a major player – and winner –?in the global climate transition.??? The green transition is capital intensive and consists of extended timelines, but we need to view these investments as part of a broader, long-term strategy. The cost of inaction is far greater — both for our climate and our economy. ? ??
