According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), utility-scale solar developers plan to add 26 gigawatts (GW) of new solar capacity in 2025 and another 22 GW in 2026. This follows a record 37 GW added in 2024—nearly double the capacity added in 2023. This rapid expansion is transforming the country’s energy landscape.
