Cleaner Clothing was started in 2021. However, the idea has been in the works since 2016 when our owner watched Coolest Thing's YouTube video titled "Richart Sowa's Island Made of Plastic Bottles". Seeing how innovative we as people could be about our trash problems struck a chord. He wanted to see society as a whole do more toward the issues we still have on our beautiful green Earth. As he started to make strides toward a better environment, he also saw a way he could help those in need. In 2020, in Pittsburgh, PA the reported homeless rate rose to 887 people. In an effort to help those who have fallen on hard times, Cleaner Clothing has set up a donation distribution network with local charities and shelters in order to help get essential clothing to those in need. Weather it's our current t-shirts and socks, or hopeful new inventory such as underwear Cleaner Clothing always donates one of every item sold. The t-shirt you buy is the EXACT same one that a Man, Woman, or Child in need receives. We are all people and deserve to have the opportunity to clothe ourselves and our families. Now that our owner is able to partner with homeless shelters in the Pittsburgh area, environmental institutes of Lake Erie, and clothing companies willing to use plastic waste as material he can finally start making his dream come true. Today, we have taken over 18,000 plastic bottles and containers from the ocean. Our goal is to eliminate the 5.25 Trillion pieces of plastic that float in our waterways. But we can't do it without you. This is more than just a clothing company. This is cleaning the oceans. This is clothing the homeless. This is sustainability for our future by coming together as one united force. This is what Cleaner Clothing could really be.
